OpenStudy (anonymous):

when a gene is turned on they start to make their protein which is called?

OpenStudy (somy):

this question is put in such a horrible way do you understand even what its asking for?

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

It could be "DNA" As Somy said, the question is put in a very unclear way, unless there were some word bank to pick from. Though here is how a protein is normally formed in our bodies during DNA replication there is transcription, and translation. Transcription is when DNA makes RNA (m-RNA) ... than RNA during translation makes protein ( ribosomes synthesis protein).

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

the answer could simply be mRNA , since it's the last step to make the protein.
