Is it safe to assume that BC and AE are perpendicular. I want to, but I'm not sure if I should.
If it is, then Pythagoras?

It should not be necessary for you to offer to fan someone and help in another subject to get someone's attention here.

I see the 2 triangles are congruent.  That alone should be enuf to help you find the length of side AC.
