OpenStudy (mathmale):

the easiest way in which to answer this new question "So i have other question the farmer recently acquired an extra 14 acres of land. How many bushels of corn will she grow in three years?" would be to use (50+14) acres, or 64 acres, as the size of the farm, multiply that by 175 bushels per acre, and then multiply that result by 3 (years).

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Earlier, you just multiplied 50 acres by 175 bushels/acre. Now you're to multiply 64 acres by 175 bushels/acre and then multiply this result by 3. If you followed these instructions exactly, then your result is correct.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Yes. good.

OpenStudy (janu16):

i have a thrid questions saying if each bushel weighs 56 oounds how many pounds of corn will she produce per year? in 3 year? so would this be the follow up for 2 or seperate question?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

per year: 175 bushels/acre times (56 pounds/bushel). Then mult. this by 50 acres. every 3 years: multiply the above result by 3. Then mult. this by 50 acres.
