I'm trying to help a friends daughter with Scientific Notation and she is not understanding it my way 😧 If an of you helpful people can show me another way to explain that would be great! Write in Scientific Notation: 0.0000685 Thanks again!

OpenStudy (ihelpyoulearn):

Anyone? Would be highly appreciated

OpenStudy (day00):

This is the answer: 6.85 × 10-5 To format your number in this way, we'll multiply the 0.0000685 by 10, 5 time(s), making it a 6.85. We do this, because each multiplication by 10 moves the decimal point to the right one digit. But in order to keep our number the same number, we must have a × 10-5 next to the 6.85.

Thank You! This sounds better 😄
