GEOMETRY HELP WILL MEDAL!!! The following data values represent a population. What is the variance of the values? 7, 15, 11, 1, 11 A. 18 B. 22 C. 8 D. 32
what are your guesses
i have no clue
I can help if no one has yet :)
go right ahead
Well to find your answer you have to Subtract the mean from each value in the data. This gives you a measure of the distance of each value from the mean. Then you will square each of these distances (so that they are all positive values), and add all of the squares together. Divide the sum of the squares by the number of values in the data set. The standard deviation (σ) is simply the (positive) square root of the variance. So doing so your answer would be 20 :) Hope this helped!
22 sorry
Does getting your answer 22 make sense?
yeah man thanks
