OpenStudy (ineedhelplz):

Who where the cronistas of the New World, and how did they influence it?

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

A cronista is a chronicler. A person who gathers historical facts. Since it's a Spanish word, it's referring to Spanish historians. It would stand to reason that they had a bias towards the Spanish version of events and not the Indian version. And welcome to OS

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

I gave a medal for saying thankyou.

OpenStudy (ineedhelplz):

do you know how they influenced the new world?

OpenStudy (ineedhelplz):

Also thanks again :P

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Since they wrote from a European perspective, they influenced their readers towards thinking of the natives as uncivilized, savage, heathen and inferior.
