Given the function: y=-6/x A)Create a table of values to show at least eight ordered pairs that are on the graph Hint:choose positive and negative x-values to get a clear picture of what your graph will look like. B) use the table of values to graph the function. C) explain why the domain of this function is all real numbers except x=0
Creating a table of values means having a column for inputs or x, and a column for outputs, or y, so you can plug in 8 different x points and use those for your columns. Then you plot the points to graph 'em and finally domain is all the possible inputs. Basically, you can't divide by 0 so x can't be 0. Let me know if you need any clarification!
of any number?
Yes, you can plug in whatever numbers you want as x! Some numbers are easier though -- like 1, 2, 3, or 6 because they divide easily into 6 as they are factors of 6.
oh ok thank you!
is y -6 for -6/1?
@tootzrll
umm i think so? idk i havent studied this yet :/ sorry!
oh okay do you know someone who has? @tootzrll
@Awolflover1 @pooja195 help!
Make it simple: Make two columns, one named X and the other named Y. On the X side, lick 8 numbers (Like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) Start with 1. Plug that in as X and solve. Once you find that answer, put that answer in the Y column across from 1. Repeat that for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8
okay
Why did you not make the chart?
i have the chart with me|dw:1456876330671:dw|
