What can a young person take away from the Jacob story in the old testament

OpenStudy (kenljw):

There's much to learn there even a sense of genetics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think that there is nothing a young person can take away but learnign something.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

be submissive, take orders without questions and do not complain.

OpenStudy (babynini):

What part of his story? there's quite a few things about him in the Bible :>

OpenStudy (jumperman):

Don't be deceitful for a start. Jacob deceived Isaac, in which he pretended to be Esau to get the blessing from his father. There are many instances in Jacob's life where he was in a sort of struggle. He worked for a man because Jacob was in love with Rebecca. Instead of giving Rebecca to Jacob, the man gave his other daughter Leah to Jacob. Jacob then worked for many more years to have Rebecca. Many people want to argue that this sort of polygamy was condoned by God, yet I have not found a place that says God did condone this. But, really, which part of Jacob's story are you referring to?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

Jacob was anything but submissive, he struggled with God, obtained a limp and received the name Israel.
