I have many fond memories of outling for my biology teacher at 2am. Basically, outlining is like looking at a paragraph of information and pulling out the most important facts.

Outlining is good to do when you read over a textbook, and you want to have something nice to refer back to that is organized, and has the information you need, formatted and easy to study

For the few people who correctly did their outlines in my biology class were lucky, as once or twice, he let us use them for the last minute of an exam, which could easily save your grade, but mine didnʻt need saving ;p

My biology teacher was probably one of the most intelligent people Iʻve ever met, and he taught us that outlining was extremely important, and he graded it quite harshly. Iʻd say true :)
