Think about the era in which they are speaking. It was ww2- most of the men were gone. Equal pay really wasn't a concern as much as winning the war was. So, I think we can fairly rule out A, don't you? Think about how important it was for women to be as strong as the men were, so they could produce the material they needed to win the war. (i.e., planes, bombs, weapons...) I agree with your choice of b.
