who believes in Evolution?
Not me lol. In Genesis in the Bible the Earth, Animals and man were created in 7 days..... Also I BELIEVE that it is silly to believe that an ape all of a sudden just forms into a human lol.... no offense to anyone here like Ashley herself -_- but yea I do not :) Strong believer in the bible
Evolution is proven when considering bacteria, virus, and insects, the natural inference it applies to high level organism. The basic building block of all life on this planet is DNA which may mutate in the natural radiation that exist in the surrounding of this planet. Beneficial mutation tend persist and propagate though a species while negative ones tend to die out, this is known a natural selection. We did not come from monkey's but we both come from the same source the matrix of this planet, where the planet, solar system, and the universe comes from, good question.
See evolution hasn't been proven. Evolution is a religion all except Micro.... just because bones look similar doesn't prove evolution. A Hona Civic 2012 and a Honda Civic 2013 look similar as well but they didn't just evolve the Honda Civic 2012 just didn't automatically become the Honda Civic 2013 they all had one creator and that's Honda. Radioactive Dating which is so inaccurate it isn't even funny only shows how old a fossil is. Fossils do not prove evolution. Evolution like kent hovind says is a religious belief.
@KenLJW
Also there was a test done on a living animal using radioactive dating and the dating ensured that the living animal had been dead for 7,000 years. I wouldn't trust that lol

I basically gave you a logical rebuttal and you copy and pasted your original statement lol. Smh
not me the evolution is a stupid made up thing that makes absolutely no sense at all
I do not. After studying the theory and the science, I find it very nonsensical.
We got people with logic here <3

Again I made a logical rebuttal and all you can do is copy and paste because you have realized that that statement is false and you have no other argument.
Micro evolution is very real.
Macro is what Christians believe is incorrect. There is no debate Micro evolution exists.
@KenLJW Is also right to an extent. Bacteria has been proven to evolve and grow resistant to certain antibiotics. Again, that's micro evolution which can be observed and proven real.
Radiometric dating is also very accurate. Radioactive isn't. Please look up the difference between absolute and relative dating. Radiometric is the measure of decay. It is not only accurate but scientifically proven to be precise.
Same goes for Radiocarbon dating.
1 Corinthians 13:12 says, "For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then shall I know, even as also I am known." Biblically, we don't know everything now. We won't know everything until we meet God face to face.
The statement the all Christian believe evolution is false is false itself, I'm a Christian that follows God the Father and I believe in evolution and I'm sure there are many others. Just because your sect believes something doesn't imply all sects do. No sect can speak for all Christians.
We must, with what we were given in the Bible as truth, study on our own and come to conclusions ourselves. The Bible doesn't tell us everything. It couldn't. John 16:12 says, "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear." He couldn't tell us everything as people can't yet handle everything. We must study though. As Philippians 2:12 says, "...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling," We must know who the creator is and accept Him knowing we don't know everything. There is science though, once something is proven we must do our best to correlate it with the truths of the Bible. We can't say something, that has been proven, is wrong if it doesn't go directly against something clearly stated in the Bible. However, "everything came from fish" we know is wrong. God made each "according to its kind." That being said, we can't definitively say that God didn't breed each reptile from one species to make many different. God made man different, but we can't definitively say that God didn't create each fish by mutating it from the first one. Mammals, reptiles, etc are separate. We don't know how God did it. I mean, God is the father of science. I think he would know best how to use gene splicing if that's what he wanted to do.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions @mustbethestars
@KenLJW I am wondering...... as a Christian you put your faith into Jesus therefore believing in what the bible says. In Genesis it speaks of how God created MAN AND ALL ANIMALS in 7 days.... so if you are a Christian who believes in the bible..... how do you believe in evolution when it contradicts that. A further question is.... if you do not believe that part of the bible why are you calling yourself a Christian?
A dictionary definition of a Christian would be something similar to “a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ or in the religion based on the teachings of Jesus." With that being said must believe the teachings in the bible..... if you do not you aren't a TRUE question. You see you cannot call yourself a Christian and be one foot out and one foot in which is basically believing in Jesus and the Bible EXCEPT the part where Genesis clearly puts evolution out of the Christian. Well I mean you can consider yourself a true Christian only you would be a hypocrite. @KenLJW
2 PETER 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
"Well I mean you can consider yourself a true Christian only you would be a hypocrite." -Judging someone as a hypocrite based on different beliefs. Matthew 7:1-3 1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Judging his differences would make you the hypocrite. "With that being said must believe the teachings in the bible..... if you do not you aren't a TRUE [Christain]." - The bible never tells you HOW SPECIFICALLY God created life. You can not tell me he didn't do it by evolving within species with any level of certainty. Just as I can't tell you he did. What we know: 1.) God made animals each according to their kind. (Genesis 1:24-25) Could he have done this by gene splicing? Could he have done this through evolving through mutation within each type of animal? Could he have done this through creating one animal in each category of "kind" and created new animals from that on, still remaining in the same "kind"? You can't tell me He didn't as the Bible doesn't say ONE THING about the scientific aspects that God enacted to create animals. Which we know He must have done since organisms are so hugely scientifically complicated. 2.) We know that he created man separately. (Genesis 1:26-28) We know that man didn't evolve from ape as God made us separately. That doesn't mean he is any less Christian because he does some research and tries to study science which God also created. Philippians 2:12 says, "...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling," Respect the Bible and make sure that you are within your bounds. Now, I don't necessarily believe in evolution; however, I do know that the bible doesn't discount it. The only part the bible discounts is that we don't come from apes and apes don't come from fish. You are in no place to outline the bounds of a true Christian when your posts are strictly opinionated. There was no fact in there. There was also no verses or anything backing up what you were saying. You need to quote them next time. This also helps you learn deeper yourself.
@mustbethestars
In this context, does belief in Evolution have to contradict God's existence?
If not, then I do believe in Evolution to some extent (that animals do change and adopt to new environments and so on....). But, to believe that the earth has come from some unknown which came from another unknown and that from another unknown, then that I do not ...
First according to Genesis the Universe was created in 6 days, the 7 God rested. In the 2nd chapter it gives a slightly different creation story for man. In Genesis sin is mentioned once and it doesn't really define it except if you don't do well you'll be ensnared by it. In Exodus were actually introduced to God the Father who defined sin openly and through Moses, This is the Deity that I follow where ever He leads me, Christ was the fulfillment of Leviticus Chapter 16, but not really sure who the scape goat is.
Finally if you fully aware of the OT you'll see Christ teaching in the Gospels correspond to it with some clarification.
evolutionist are pretty much saying that we all came from rocks but how? science tells us that you need cells to reproduce. they say you need 2 humans to make another. do you see humans coming out of rocks? no, we don't. you know why? because rocks can't reproduce or shape shift. they call us crazy for believing in the unknown but how are we crazy? for having faith in our hearts about the God that made everything. yet He humbles himself and keeps Himself unknown. They teach all this crap in schools so kids become bias and don't know what really happened or how the "science" behind evolution is impossible. they destroy the laws of science with the evolution THEORY but call it fact. when they have no real evidence. they find a few bones from a human and monkey and suddenly its a "Austalopithecus africanus" (see the big word? lol it must be true now). they use huge sophisticated words to try and fool us. they say that we came from apes but how is it possible to change ones genes, you can just be its cold lately im going to grow fur or its hot im going to shed all my fur. it isnt possible to change your genes and become something else, and they say "overtime" but that is bogus. They say that monkeys became humans but how is that even possible (genes can't one day start transforming) ? evolution doesn't explain morality.
@mustbethestars agrees
1)When morality is reduced to patterns of behavior chosen by natural selection for its survival value, then morality is not explained; it's denied 2)The evolutionary approach is not an explanation of morality; it's a denial of morality. It explains why we think moral truths exist when, in fact, they don't. 3)Evolutionists like Wright are ultimately forced to admit that what we think is a "higher truth" of morality turns out to be a "shameless ploy" of nature, a description of animal behavior conditioned by the environment for survival.
Yes I agree completely that it is silly to believe that an organism comes from a rock. Scientist has never once discovered life coming from non life.... yet most people choose to believe we come from absolutely nothing. Furthermore, the big bang and evolution isn't observed therefore it shouldn't be taught in the classrooms at school. Finally, is we were all a big accident we wouldn't have morals..... everything would be permissible.
amen
Wait @SolomonZelman so you believe in evolution ;3
Yes its silly to believe the Theory of Relativity or Quantum Mechanics which is the foundation of Atomic Boom, no such thing exist and history is a farce. Man always had electricity and computers and that's that.
we live in the way of God, we must preach our ways. just because you don't believe it doesnt mean that we will stop. we are not judging but rather trying to save you @SnuggieLad
@KenLJW Do you have any response on our stance to evolution?
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
That goes for you to.
Also I am not judging when I am saying you are a hypocrite for calling yourself a Christian and a believer in the bible yet you choose to disbelieve genesis. Judging is not a question when it is surely a fact.
we are simply backing up that He is real @KenLJW therefore trusting in Him
It clearly puts evolution out of the question in the first book of the Holy Bible, Genesis
I need to talk to you on Google btw >.>
I trust is God the Father, and Christ who follows Him, with such trust I must recognize what He reveals to me, I've experienced telepathy, cognizance of a personal future event that I only recognized recently that happened about 40 years ago, the transportation of personal material possessions in an unknown manner, and insights to the Holy Scriptures OT and New.
I really do not believe in Macroevolution because there are a lot of different scientific points that don't make sense with Evolution. Here are a few brief examples: 1. The differences/similarities of amino acid organisms contradict the evolutionary chain. 2. The fossil record shows less evidence of Macroevolution than more evidence for it. That is according to some prominent evolutionists today. 3. The Laws of Thermodynamics are evidence against the big bang, and show more evidence for a creator, thus leaving a conclusion that the creator must have also created life. Here are some questions that evolutionists/big bang theorists must answer: 1. According to the laws of Thermodynamics, energy must be transferred by an outside system. If nothing existed before the universe, than how was energy transferred into the universe? 2. Why does the evolutionary chain start with unicellular organisms? Couldn't it start with another type of organism? 3. If chance is the cause behind the big bang and evolution, than how does chance know that its system functions properly? Wouldn't chance have to create and destroy the universe over and over until everything functions as chance wants it to? 4. Why are we here? Why do we have to evolve? Here are some misconceptions about the way the universe and evolution work. (This is according to some people I have talked to) 1. "Everything happens as it happens through the laws of nature, there is no chance nor is there a God." Well, the problem with this way of thinking is that you have to explain what put the laws of nature of place. Either it was through divine Providence of God or chance. 2. "We evolved from monkeys." Actually, no. According to the theory of evolution, we actually evolved from a common ancestor. (I do not believe we did though) 3. "We cannot see God, so God cannot exist, so we must believe in evolution." Seems reasonable, but we haven't seen evolution either, and to be more precise, natural evolution. 4. "God used the big bang and evolution and that is why everything is here." Actually, this seems kind of reasonable because everything makes noise, but I think the events are different. Secondly, God could not have used the scientific big bang because the scientific big bang says light came before the universe, vs. God creating the universe before light. This is the same issue with evolution. Some animals that came before others according to evolution actually came after according to Genesis. 5. "Evolution is a fact." No, it's not. It is a theory. You cannot observe evolution, neither can you experiment with evolution. Even then, it shouldn't be a theory, but an unconfirmed hypothesis. 6. "Darwin renounced his theory before his death." That is not proven, and even his daughter, (I think), even said that the event did not take place. These are some reasons and issues I have with evolution. Feel free to respond with your thoughts, but please be respectful. I stand for creation, and will continue to do so. But I like sharing information.
@KenLJW Genesis 2 is actually a recap of the story. There is a Hebraic style of writing that summarizes what the chapter will cover. So, in a sense, you could actually say that chapter 2 of Genesis is a summary of what happened in Genesis 1, but of course, man sometimes can rearrange things. The Christian Bible is different than a Jewish one in terms of where the books are placed. So, it really just depends.
Should I even try? Should I even write a long post explaining my points? Should I even try to make something you guys understand with scriptural backing? I feel like I do all of this for nothing. You guys don't even seem to read what I've posted because if you had you wouldn't be using the same points over and over as I have debunked them. I'm not saying they are completely wrong I'm just saying you can't use them as you can't prove them biblically. The only point you can prove is that man didn't come from fish. But you're not God and you don't know how God created what He created. I don't even know sometimes why I try. @rebeccaxhawaii 1.) I never said anything against you guys for not believing in evolution. It's not that big of a deal. I just posted my points, backed them up with scripture and science, and then left. 2.) Nowhere in the evolutionary theory does it say that everything came from rocks. That is wrong and (judgement intended on this point only) is completely an ignorant statement on something that you haven't done research on. It does NOT say we came from rocks. However, it does say we came from fish which we know to be biblically wrong. It is important to learn though as there are merits to it that could theoretically be right and don't go against the bible. WE HAVE TO USE OUR BRAINS! The bible is a document that requires you to think and apply it to the world! Don't check your brain out and read it all without caring to match it to the facts we know. The way you are doing it is like saying, "If the bible says 2+2=12 then I don't care about math because it will always be 12 no matter what proof there is." That is ignorant. It is your job to take what the bible says and use your brain to work it into what we know! If you studied the bible and science you would find out that NOTHING that is scientifically proven as fact goes against the bible. The bible is the perfect word of God and he made it that way. Proverbs 18:15 ESV "An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge." 3.) I tried to stop myself but I must hit on the "trying to save me" part. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't mean it the way I perceived it. Now, I am a Christian. I know where I'm going when my life is over and I know the reasons I serve the Lord. I am a born again, spirit filled Christian. If you have any doubts, that's on you. However, while I understand your point, it's wrong. God gave us the Bible for a guideline of what we should and should not do. It does change with the times but the stated facts do not. It is our job to read it and find what it is telling us. I urge you, I know it's long but read what I've posted above. I don't want to hit on anymore points until I get a reply that you've read it.
Now, @mustbethestars you are correct when you say the book of Genesis puts (SOME parts) of evolution into question. However, some parts maybe right! WE DON'T KNOW! Like I said though above, "Nowhere in the evolutionary theory does it say that everything came from rocks. That is wrong and (judgement intended on this point only) is completely an ignorant statement on something that you haven't done research on." Study it! Study the Bible! Look at where the Bible stops and where evolution begins. I don't agree with every point of evolution as I have said too many times. However, I do understand that you CAN'T prove it entirely wrong just using the Bible as the Bible doesn't go into detail on some facts. Now calling someone a hypocrite and saying they can't be a true Christian is absolutely judgement and hypocrisy in itself. That means I am calling you a judgmental hypocrite as some things you've said have been. You can't discount the judgmental mentality of your posts by saying, "Also I am not judging when I am saying" as it doesn't work that way! You have done it multiple times and have been told by moderators to watch the way you are talking! Lastly in that post I quoted in the previous paragraph, "I am saying you are a hypocrite for calling yourself a Christian and a believer in the bible yet you choose to disbelieve genesis. Judging is not a question when it is surely a fact." HE NEVER SAID HE DISBELIEVES GENESIS! THAT IS INCORRECT! What he's saying is, "Genesis is NOT clear on some aspects" which is CORRECT! It is our job to fill in the blanks.
1My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. 3Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4So you will find favor and good successa in the sight of God and man. 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. Don't take it out of context, what that passage is saying is, don't lean fully on your own understanding but instead bind his words on your heart and through them view the world. What does that mean in this conversation? Firstly, respect what the bible says and put it first in your education and view of the world. Then study and fill in, to the best of your ability the spots the bible doesn't hit on while keeping the truths of the gospel at the forefront.
@SnuggieLad I didn't say humans came from rocks I said the first living organism ever came from a rock. Now if it did not, where do you suppose it came from? I shall retouch on what I said...... If you are not a theist then you are believing everything came from nothing.... What created the particle in space to make the big bang theory? If it was a particle without life then how did life come from nothing? Which by the way, defies science.... and no scientist has ever observed life coming from non-life. I've only seen that in Toy Story, but it was just a movie.
Furthermore, evolution is not science because it has not been observed as the big bang theory which I believe shouldn't be taught in science class.
Now when I say evolution has not been observed I am not talking about the evolution of music or dancing... I am talking about the part where one animal just jumps right into the form of a new animal... like an Ape just instantly becoming a human? I BELIEVE it sounds silly I am not going to judge people for what they believe. My best friend and I wouldn't replace her is an atheist herself... however, nature DOES NOT jump.. Nobody has ever seen an animal just all of a sudden change form. I know there have been tests done on bacteria however this evolution of bacteria doesn't survive in fact it actually gets worse.... now if evolution is real shouldn't we be perfect by now? It is easy to dismiss what you don't understand or what you don't want to understand but if you read something with an open mind and saw that scientists are basically saying EVERYTHING came from NOTHING only then you would see...
Take a few courses in control and system theory where feedback and feedforward are used to stabilize a process. See how science is used in a engineering point of view. I don't agree with it but its a view of some Christian of intelligent design and there outlook seems a little simplistic in their understanding nature. a supposed creation.
It's as simple as that there was a God...... but without God there would be no morals... the way scientists describe, we were all one big accident... which means everything we do should be permissible. If we were to believe evolution and the big bang theory is true that means everything we do in our lives should not be only permissible but everything we do is meaningless. What happens after life? Nothing? We are just sitting there in like a coma? Our lives are basically meaningless and there SHOULD be no morality in life if there was no God. @KenLJW
I am just going to assume I've done a good job explaining my point as you are ignoring it.
Yes, religions do form morals, which are you talking about Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and all the sects associate with them.
I am not ignoring your point lol
I also don't think @KenLJW is referring directly to the jump from ape to human.
Cool ;) So I've done good then. You can't reply.
Or maybe you fear me...EVEN BETTER. ;)
I can reply you can't tell me I cannot reply I am furthermore explaining my stance..... and now you are talking nonsense "maybe you fear me"? Really dude?
I thought we were having an intelligent conversation here
I know, it was sarcasm. At this point it feels like I'm the only one backing up my points with biblically sound data. Such as scripture or accounts.
Most other users are using opinion or redundancy. Going back to the same point again and again. Not backing themselves up and when questioned on it, they restate exactly what they have already stated with more rude remarks.
*added rude remarks
Okay well I choose not to back up my points with religious scripture because last time I did I had a mod give me a warning now I am not being rude I am being straightforward with my stance. I have not called anyone stupid only merely stated what I believed and what I believed was silly.
You don't have to call someone stupid to have it read in between the lines you post.
My best friend is Atheist for crying out loud xD. I love her to death.
I have a black friend.
You read what you wanted to read. If I want something to be said I do not hand out hidden messages I am a very straightforward guy. If I wanted to call someone stupid I would do it. If someone believes in evolution and the big bang theory that does not make THEM stupid because they could be in fact very intelligent people. But the idea of evolution and the big bang IS stupid. At least that is what I believe. :)
So, again. It is fine to debate and to share your beliefs in this section. However, it is \(\large\bf\underline{\color{red}{NOT}}\) okay to try to prove someone else's beliefs as incorrect or reply with crude comments that are demeaning toward another person or their beliefs. Do not judge or demerit other's beliefs, do not use demeaning terms when speaking about another stance. If your question or comment requires a statement such as "Don't get me wrong...", "I'm not trying to be rude...", or any other similar statement, don't post it. \(\large\rm\color{cornflowerblue}{Open}\color{lightgreen}{Study}\) is used by users from all over the world who come from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Religious debates are \(\bf\color{lime}{okay}\), but disrespect is absolutely \(\bf\color{red}{not}\) okay. \(\large\bf\underline{\color{red}{When~Debating:}}\) \(\bf\color{orange}{Be~respectful~of~other's~beliefs~and~opinions.}\) \(\bf\color{gold}{Use~careful~wording~so~as~not~to~offend~others.}\) \(\bf\color{lime}{Be~kind.}\) \(\bf\color{blue}{Be~respectful.}\) \(\bf\color{blueviolet}{Keep~in~mind~that~this~site~is~for~educational~purposes.}\) \(\bf\color{magenta}{Teach,~learn,~and~have~fun!}\)
Yet you, very straightforwardly, called someone a hypocrite and a "fake christian" and expected it not to be offensive.
"I have a black friend" is definitely racist, read Numbers and find out that Moses was married to an African and his father in-law was an African Priest.
And my "best response" goes to @Whitemonsterbunny17
I did not call anyone a fake Christian. Furthermore, @Whitemonsterbunny17 the point of debating is giving your reasoning and evidence to prove the persons belief or standpoint as wrong and yours as right. For them, vice versa. In an OpenStudy community if that is not okay. Then why are there debates -_-
@KenLJW , I literally have a black friend. Nothing racist about it. We were talking about our friends.
You can debate without defamation of character and religious intolerance. You can also debate without blasting, downing, or otherwise speaking in a discriminatory tone to others. You can very much debate without telling someone they are wrong for their beliefs. This is not the place for that.
Debates are to share your viewpoint of a topic and discuss about it. Debates are to be friendly, not demeaning. Here's the definition of debate, from Google: "De·bate dəˈbāt/ Noun 1. A formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward. Synonyms: discussion, discourse, parley, dialogue Verb 1.Argue about (a subject), especially in a formal manner."
Debate is further evidence toward your point. The best debaters don't need to prove others wrong to sway opinion.
There are right ways to do it. There just happen to be way more wrong ways.
Anyways, those are the new rules for this section.
So, to finalize this: Evolution is a theory and is only part possible, biblically speaking. The Bible is (To a Christian anyway[including me]) completely true and discredits the more outlandish facts to evolution.
Whatever you say...... xD I cannot see how people are Christians here defending evolution. That is not a rude statement I just can't see how that is so. @rebeccaxhawaii is the only stated Christian here on this post I found not to defend evolution. Now I am outta here before I get myself in trouble. x'D
Furthermore if I offended anyone I apologize :3
When you can tell me the scientific specificity to how God created man and every animal I will forever respect you on a level you couldn't even imagine. Heck, If you can tell me exactly how God created all the different animals, from a scientific standpoint, with details that the bible doesn't give you, I will pay you $10,000. I'm a Christian also whom doesn't believe in evolution. But you can't discount it.
That's perfectly okay if you don't understand, that's what this section is here for. For others to discuss their beliefs on why. You have to read their responses with an open mind though, and if you don't agree with what they say, then just simply say something like "I respect your belief, but I disagree." You can tell them why you disagree, but don't try to prove their belief as wrong in a demeaning way, so say something like "I believe this because..." :)
Let me rephrase before you go crazy. You can't discount ALL of it.
Please read that carefully. You can't discount ALL of it just like you can't blame ALL the Christians for the Crusades. (which we talked about in another post)
Nobody can tell how god created animals and human from a scientific standpoint. However nobody can PROVE evolution either. People can't say how God came to be on the contrary nobody can explain how the small matter in the air that created the big bang came to be.
And when I talk about evolution I am talking about the first five on this list.
Exactly. So how can you say a Christian can't believe, to a limited extent, that evolution is wrong.
The bible doesn't discount all of it and leaves an opening that it would properly explain.
