OpenStudy (phi):

how many cm in a meter ?

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

100 i think

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. you would write it 100 cm = 1 m the cm is small (less than an inch) , and a meter is much bigger, about 1 yard

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

Ok

OpenStudy (phi):

notice in 100 cm = 1 m what do you do the 100 to make it a 1 (that is what we do when we convert from cm to meters) any idea ?

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

So The second one is b

OpenStudy (phi):

when converting we never use add or subtract (except in special cases like Fahrenheit to Celsius)

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

So the first one is multiply

OpenStudy (phi):

so you say multiply 100 * some_power_of_ten = 1 ?

OpenStudy (phi):

a power of 10 is 1,10,100,1000, and so on multiplying will make the 100 bigger we want to make it 1

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

ok

OpenStudy (phi):

what is 100/100 ?

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

Thank for your help i got 4/5 so which is 80% :) Thanks
