A viewpoint is a person's perspective on a particular matter or topic, which is usually seen in argumentative essays. To support a viewpoint, you can either provide another valid point supporting the topic or you can give an example to support the point. Another way is, of course, to consider the other perspectives and state why it is not advisable to support other viewpoints by comparing them to the viewpoint you support.
