The sum of a regular pentagon’s internal angles is 1440o. Find the number of degrees in each angle in the polygon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Adryin help please???

Directrix (directrix):

The figure drawn is a triangle. A pentagon has 5 sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know.....it's confusingggggg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix just go with the first thing and ignore the drawing?

OpenStudy (junhaoz):

A regular pentagon has 5 equal internal angles. So you basically divide the 1440 by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So....288?

OpenStudy (junhaoz):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

Directrix (directrix):

@BatGirl03 The Interior Angles of a Pentagon add up to 540° Because the pentagon is regular, the angles are congruent. Each interior angle has measure 540/5 which is not 288.

Directrix (directrix):

The sum of the interior angles of a decagon (10 sides) is 1440. If the decagon is regular, each internal angle has measure 1440/10. I suggest that you check your text to be sure the posted question is correct in its wording.
