The absolute value is just going to be itself unless there is a negative number this is the case because its kinda like distance it can never be negative, so if you draw a number like from 0 to 3.5 your answer is just 3.5 thats basically whats going on here if you had |-3.5| than you would have to do the number line again if your a visual person and think how far away is -3.5 to 0 3.5 units, so if your looking at a number like always look from left to right if you have a negative absolute value know that you will always get a positive if you have a positive and its just an absolute value with one number like this problem you will get the same answer
