First posted by @TheSmartOne First you might want to read the Code of Conduct & Terms and Conditions that we expect yuo to follow. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions Then once you log in in to Open Study, you can do many things such as: 1) Change subjects 2) Ask a question 3) Give a medal 4) Tag others to your question. 5) Answer a question 6) Answer using Equations, Drawing, and Attaching a file 7) Become someone's fan 8) Talk to one person through messages 9) Talk to the people in the chat 10) Look at previous questions and their responses
1) Change Subjects It is always best to post your question in the correct section so that way people who are experts in that subject can help you. This screenshot shows you where to go to change subjects. http://prntscr.com/4wb1ih 2 )Ask a question Once you are in the correct subject you will click the text box and type your question. This screenshot shows you where to click to type your question http://prntscr.com/4wb1t0 3) Give a medal Once someone helps you you can return the favor by giving them a medal. You can only give one medal per question. Also do not have a medalling party as that can get your account suspended. Here is a screenshot that shows you how to give a medal. http://prntscr.com/4wkffu
4) Tag somebody Once you post your question you can either wait for people to come or you can tag them and invite them to view your question by writing @ and then their username. For example: @Qwertty123 . When you first write @ and then the begining letter it pulls a list of all the users with that part in their name that are online. Remember do not tag a lot of people as that is spamming. Here is a screenshot that shows that. http://prntscr.com/4wkd4f
okay that is exicting, so basically we just ask any question and people give answers??
5) Answer a question You can answer a question or reply to someone's question by clicking on the text box and starting to type. Here is a screenshot of where it is located. http://prntscr.com/4wkmog Once you have completed writing your answer, you can click the post button and post your reply. Sometimes when you write too much, you may not be able to see the post button. A simple solution for this is to press tab and then enter. Here is a screenshot of where the post button is. http://prntscr.com/4wkn79
Yes you help them get and Answer..read the COC... You will see that you may Not give Direct Answers..
6) Answer using Equations, Drawing, and Attaching a file. All of these options are located to the left of the post button and underneath the text box where you post your reply. The equation and draw have a lot of features. Here is a screenshot of where it is located. http://prntscr.com/4wkpae 7) Becoming someone's fan You can become someone's fan because they helped you and you might need their help later or becasue you like them. You just move your mouse over their username and a little pop-up box appears and there is a button that says "become a fan". During the Orange War, when you can not see someone's smartscore, you can fan them by putting your cursor over their name and clicking "view detailed profile". From there you click on smartscore and there will be another button that says "become a fan". Here is a screenshot that shows you how you can fan them. Method 1: Missing 1 Screenshot due to Orange War will post later Method 2: Missing 1 Screenshot due to Orange War will post later http://prntscr.com/4wkztn
@meganbettis
8) Talk to someone through messages If you want to talk to someone, just between the two of you, then you can use messages. It is the liitle mailbox symbol in the top bar. Here is a screenshot of where it is located. http://prntscr.com/4wlh38 9) Talk to someone in the chat When you join a subject a little chat box appears at teh bottom. If you click it, you can chat with whoever is in the chat. You can also minimize it or make it really small so you can have your space back. A screenshot that shows you where it is. http://prntscr.com/4wlhx5 http://prntscr.com/4wli5o
10) Look at previous questions and tutorials Well to look at previous questions, you can keep scrollong down and look at the question and responses. You can also look at closed questions. If you want to look at tutorials to learn something then go to http://openstudytutorials.weebly.com/ My friend @Abhisar will continue to add more great tutorials for Open Studiers.
And not to forget Once you start a question and you have gotten an answer, please close it. Here is screenshot that shows you how you can close it. http://prntscr.com/4wljgx http://prntscr.com/4wljjv
