Circle E is being inscribed in ΔABC. The diagram shows all but the final step of the construction. What is the length of the radius of circle E?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ED EC EF EA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have a feeling its either ef or ed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ShadowLegendX any idea?

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

Not quite positive, but if I had to guess, I'd say ED. I don't quite remember a lot about construction but I dunno.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i half agree with you because i feel it could also be EF

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

for more explanation, try https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/construct-triangleinscribe.html pretty sure I'm right, but I'm watching their demonstration to make sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be ED

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

ok so yeah it would be ED, because you're supposed to bisect 2 angles, and your bisectors are CF and AE, and then you draw a line from the point that your bisectors cross (point E), and the line you're drawing has to be perpendicular to the side it crosses, and you use that line as the radius to draw your circle.

thank you
