the two figures shown below are congruent. identify the corresponding sides and angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So will you help?

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

well, i think they just want to know what sides are congruent , or it sounds like that anyway

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, can you help me??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill give 5 medals for the answer

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

basically the figure just did a 90 degree rotation clockwise , so sides A and D are sides R and Q .. S and P are sides B and C .. A and B is S and Q .. and C and D is P and Q... understand how i got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda, but not really

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

ok think about it this way... you have your figure

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

|dw:1457034322407:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

i know im bad at drawing on here XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i feel like i understand.

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

now what the figure did was it turned 90 degrees clockwise so the way i clock goes.. you know 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 counter clockwise is 12, 11, 10 ... so we want to put the figure 90 degrees which would be 3 o clock , so we just need to rotate the figure until it goes from 12 to 3 if were using a clock to make it easier

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

wait a minute sorry, we need to go counter clockwise so were going to 12 to 9 not 3 whoops

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so how should i word it to complete my test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me an answer, so i can turn it in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it needs an written response and an answer

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

well it wants which angles and sides are congruent so you would say Line BA is equal to Line SR , Line AD is equal to Line RQ, Line CD is equal to Line PQ, and Line BC is equal to Line SP

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

now for the angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

Angle D is equal is Angle Q , Angle A is equal to angle R, Angle B is equal to angle S and Angle C is equal to angle P . but i would replace the word equal to corresponds

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

i would imagine thats what they want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you so much

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

your welcome
