@nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

x-intercept: is point where the graph intersect at x-axis when y=0 (so substitute y for 0 then solve for x-) y-intercept: is a point where graph intersect y-axis when x=0 (so substitute x for 0 to find y-intercept) maximum or minimum for parabola would be a vertex point that you find using the formula \[\rm x=\frac{-b}{2a}\] and then substitute x value into the original function to find y coordinate

Nnesha (nnesha):

^^without graph if you are allowed to use calculator then you can graph it

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

I'm allowed to use my TI-84 graphing calculator :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok. you can use that if you want. but its a good idea to solve by hand

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

x=-1.06383, y=0.3535536

Nnesha (nnesha):

how did you g et that ?

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

Graphing

Nnesha (nnesha):

hmm that's not correct. y-intercept where graph intersect the y-axis |dw:1460018422427:dw| if the leading coefficient is positive then you will get maximum point
