Algebra 7 Online
OpenStudy (nikkindavis):

8 < x(7 – x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you supposed to solve for \(x\)?

OpenStudy (nikkindavis):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is way harder than the others first multiply out on the right to get \[8<7x-x^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then add \(x^2\) and subtract \(7x\) to get \[x^2-7x+8<0\]

OpenStudy (nikkindavis):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a typo somewhere in the question? you have to solve this using the quadratic formula are you sure it is not \[-8<x(x-7)\]?

OpenStudy (nikkindavis):

I'm sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you just supposed to find some number that works? what does the question actually say?

OpenStudy (nikkindavis):

They're two questions. 1. What is the solution of the inequality? 2. Solve for x
