What do you need help with?

he solutions for this absolute value problem are: x = 3 & x = -3 x = 11 & x = -3 x = -11 & x = 3 x = -11 & x = 11

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u want to find x first u should add -6 on both sides of the equation so you will have: 2|x + 4| = 20 -6 2|x+4| = 14 and now u can divide both sides by 2: |x + 4| = 7 so because of the absolute value u will have two answers: x +4 = 7 so x = 3 OR x +4 = -7 so x = -11 so the answer is : x = 3, -11
