I just had a similar question I think I can help you with this hold on a moment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okie dokie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so the first step is to find 15% of 14,000.00. When you say of in any word problem it means times so you times 15% of 14,000. But to make it easier you can turn the percent into a decimal then you take that answer and add it of 14,000 because it was 15% of 14,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to turn a percent into a decimal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats okay hold on and i can explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to turn it into a fraction? Its okay if you don't Its just an easier way to do if you do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ill figure it ot\ut i have a caculator so yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do i turn into a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um nvm i give up ill just guess im being timed :'( thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The percent. Its like saying what is 15% out of 100, 1000, 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I didnt know it was timed sorry so you still want me to explain fast.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure if u can?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so to turn a percent into a decimal is you have to think of it as the places in the decimal after the dot there is tenth place hundreds place and so on and 15% is out of 100% so it is going to be in the hundreds place so it is going to be 0.15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you take 0.15 and times it 14000 and what you get you add on to 14000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much !!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep great job!!!!!
