Limited government is designed to stay out of the way of a free people. There are basic things a government needs to do, but beyond that people make the best decisions for themselves. A limited government would be able to pay it's own bills, not cost very much and not require the people to pay lots of taxes.

Small govenment means low taxes because of low spending. Your balance is always in balance because you don't buy things you can't afford.
