First you need to look at the question and think about it. What is a victory garden ?
uhh i think they were gardens with fruits and veggies
during the wars
Yes, but what purpose did they serve ?
i guess to help feed people
Victory Gardens were used during the war so that farmers could grow food for soldiers and people could grow food for themselves. It helped to save money because farmers didn't have to grow food for citizens and soldiers.
With this knowledge, how could having a Victory Garden help support the war effort ?
basically by providing the soldiers and people with food, it would be easier for them
i dont know how to explain it but you know what im trying to say? lol
i get what you're saying tho
ima help
Here, let me re-word your response a little bit here. "With farmers being able to focus better on growing food for soldiers, it's easier for them to make money when people grow their own gardens and supply their own food for themselves and their families."
yes lol that's so much better
thank you so much. are you able to help me out with just a few more?
I'll do my best !
for this one i put that they supported it so much that they took the mens place in war. but i need more info
This is on WWI correct ?
yes!
Okay. So, during WWI women and African-Americans were allowed to fight for the first time. With that knowledge, what do you think those posters stood for ?
probably their determination and appreciation for being allowed to fight
Yes ! However that's not a properly worded answer, so try saying something more like "The posters stood for the women's determination in the war to prove they could fight alongside men and do just as well."
oh okay! thats good haha
i have 2 questions left is that okay?
Yes, that's fine.
by this one i feel like many americans were depressed
Not exactly. In both of the World Wars, America tried to stay out of it as long as possible. In the political comic you showed me, Democracy is begging Uncle Sam (who often depicts America) to stay out for both of their sakes. What do you think this means ?
i think maybe they begged to please prevent from anything else happening and making things worse?
Close ! America was afraid if they entered the war they'd end up destroying their democracy and that they'd be impacted by communism, considering WWI was around the time of the first Red Scare.
Which is why Democracy is begging Uncle Sam to stay out "for my safe and yours".
yeah that makes more sense
thank you for justifying it. i have just 1 more!
Okay !
The post-WWII boom was when the United States had a drastic rising in the economy. With the majority of money they had accumulated, the US built the Interstate System as a way to easily travel from state to state. It was much faster than taking regular roads as you could travel faster on the Interstate.
wooowww thank you sooo much
You're very welcome ! When you get the grade back, message me to tell me how you did ! I want to know ! :)
