OpenStudy (tashadalexander):

What is the difference between a paraphrase and a summary? A summary gives a detailed description of events, while a paraphrase does not. A summary restates all of the main ideas; a paraphrase is a condensed version of text. A summary is a shortened version of an original text; a paraphrase is a restatement of a part of text, such as a sentence. There is no difference.

OpenStudy (hannaha):

C. a paraphrase changes the original sentence structure and uses your own words. A summary may have original quotes from a passage
