OpenStudy (billiejdean):

Find the zeros for the polynomial function and give the multiplicity for each zero. State whether the graph crosses the x-axis, or touches the x-axis and turns around, at each zero. f(x)=2(x+1)(x-7)^2 the (x-7) is squared please help

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

The zero are the root of the equation and the multiplicity is the power that is its corresponding factor raised to. For example, in the polynomial function f(x) = (x – 3)^4(x – 5)(x – 8)^2, the zero 3 has multiplicity 4, 5 has multiplicity 1, and 8 has multiplicity 2. Although this polynomial has only three zeros, we say that it has seven zeros counting multiplicity.

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Can you work the zeroes and the multiplicity of your problem now

OpenStudy (welshfella):

(x + 1) is one of the factors so if we put this = 0 we find one of the roots(zeroes) x + 1 = 0 so x = what?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

can you solve that simple equation
