I am interested in learning Marathi Language . Can someone please guide me how to go about it.
The best steps to learning any language is to first figure out why you want to learn it. Then you will want to get books based on your reason to learn it for the 3 following categories: Phonology, Grammar, Vocabulary (in that order is helpful). If you are wanting to learn it for business, you will want to get as many books as possible that go over every part of the language since you will need at least an intermediate understanding of the language. If you are learning it just for fun, start out small, very small. Marathi isn't an Indo-European language (English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, etc.) so the grammar, sounds, and vocabulary will be very different from ours. If you haven't learned a non-indo-european language before, I would start out with Swahili first as it is one of the easier ones. Other than that, google everything, find books on everything about the language, and most importantly, STUDY HARD! Goodluck to you! :)
Marathi is actually an Indo-European language, but since it is not as widely spoken you may not be able to find many resources for advanced learning. You can start out here though: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/marathi.htm
@a1234 its an indo-aryan. Is that a branch of IE? It might be but i dont focus on the eastern IE languages except for Russian.
Edit: It actually is a branch of indo-european, just a smaller branch. Sorry for my misinformation above.
Yes, Indo-Aryan is a branch of the Indo-European language family.
