Hello. Seeking advice, I am debating with myself if I should let go my religion. Yes, like many people ...it is because of hurt. My father has treated me with crude ways and it hurts. The agony of the pressure to live perfectly. How is it so easy for some? Are we here to die, choose, and go to heaven or hell?
I am Jewish (Christianity with excess mannerisms.)
This is obviously a hard decision in your life and it is really all up to you.
Do not leave all religion (ie. the way of abraham) unless you iether become a christian or muslim. whatever you do do not become an atheist. I know that some uber orhtodox do not talk to sons exept for in matters of faith. a book about a boy in your position is called "The Chosen" by chaim puttock.
You could still remain Jewish, Old Testament, and be Christian by recognizing Christ, Micah 2:13, teachings actually correspond with the Old Testament with some clarifications. So you can both follow God the Father and Christ who follows God the Father. I see this as the calling in Isaiah 66:21, I use the KJB Bible the first one with two sticks put together as in Ezekiel 17:16.
I agree with @mazmaz1
@mazmaz1 There's many ways to leave a religion, Buddha left Hindu and created his own religion. and atheism is one. Unlike what people think atheism practices no Deity, but do adhere to Statism You have to remember that ancient Israel and Judah practiced Statism which eventual became a religion leading to Christianity.
