Find both unit rates. 30 white cars for every 12 red cars

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

@563blackghost

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Hey

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Will you help me on two of these?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Sure ^^

563blackghost (563blackghost):

We would first set this up as a fraction ratio.... \(\huge{\frac{30}{12}}\) Now in order to solve this we would first divide \(\large{30}\) by \(\large{12}\) and then we have to divide\(\large{12}\) by \(\large{30}\).... \(\Huge{\frac{30}{12}=\frac{? white~cars}{red~car}}\) \(\Huge{\frac{12}{30}=\frac{? red~cars}{white~car}}\)

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

30 divided by 12 would be 2.5

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

and 12 divided by 30 would be 0.4

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

So B.?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

if im reading this right?

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Is it ok if i post the next one in the comments?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Go right ahead ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Find both unit rates. 4543.08 km in 52.4 h

563blackghost (563blackghost):

This one is the same as the last one.....so we would first set this up as a ratio... \(\huge{\frac{4,543.08}{52.4}}\) Now in order to find the unit rate of both we first would divide \(\large{4,543.08}\) by \(\large{52.4}\) and then we would have divide \(\large{52.4}\) by \(\large{4,543.08}\).... \(\Huge{\frac{4,543.08}{52.4}=\frac{? ~km}{h}}\) \(\Huge{\frac{52.4}{4,543.08}=\frac{? ~h}{km}}\) Simplify ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

4,543,08 divided by 52.4 would be 86.7

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Um 52.4 divided by 4,543.08 would be 0.01153..and so on.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct but we would round to \(\large{0.012}\) ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Oh so 86.7 and 0.012

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

So D.?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Yup, since it is \(\large{0.0015}\) it would round to \(\large{0.012}\) because \(\large{15}\) rounds closer to \(\large{20}\).....And that would be correct ^^

563blackghost (563blackghost):

oops meant 0.1153 :P*

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

So its still D?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Yes it is ^^

OpenStudy (mrhirohito):

Ok just making sure :)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I understand :) was that all your questions regarding unit rate?
