Hiya! Could someone check my work for me? Thanks so much in advance! Newton's law of cooling formula: (Temperature at time t) = (room temp) + (initial temp - room temp)e^-kt CSI finds the temperature of the room to be 70 degrees. At 8:00 CSI measures the temp of the body to be 95 degrees. At 8:10 they take another measurement and find that the body has cooled to be 93 degrees. At what time was this person murdered? I said: 93 = 70 + (95 - 70)e^-10k Found k to be around ~ -.008 95 = 70 + (98.6-70)e^-kt 25 = 28.6e^-kt ln(25/28.6) = -kt T ~ 16 minutes Person was murdered at 7:44
