Math Help Please?
I dont really know how to explain it but we need to work backwards....So to get from \(\large{-2}\) to \(\large{-4}\) we can add but to find out what we add by we need to subtract these two numbers.... \(\Huge{-4 - (-2)=?}\)
@Wendy.Ivette11714 can you please help explain this?
@KendrickLamar2014 can you help her?
I dont know if I went with the right approach @KendrickLamar2014
Well den
Hmm I believe you did. -4 - -2 = ? What would that solve for @563blackghost
I thought you can have 2 negative signs?
..
@563blackghost
When subtracting with a negative the negative turns to a positive.... \(\Huge{-4+2=?}\)
That's correct
So what is your answer @rainbowswirl
-2 @Wendy.Ivette11714
That is correct @rainbowswirl
Is that all to it? @Wendy.Ivette11714
Now we have to apply -2 to the second two know points to see if it is the right rule.... \(\Huge{1+(-2)=?=-1}\) Does it equal -1?
Yes @563blackghost
What he said
So that is our rule where we add -2 to x.... \(\Huge{x+(-2)=y}\) Now we can use this rule to solve the rest of the table ^^ she* :P
So -2 + ( -2 ) = y? @563blackghost
Well x is the input in the table so if we used -2 as x we would get -4 which is the second coordinates in the table....
So to solve the rest of the table we use the rule... \(\Huge{-3 +(-2) = ?}\) \(\Huge{-1 +(-2)=?}\) \(\Huge{0+(-2)=?}\)
-1, -1, wouldn't the -2 stay the same? @563blackghost
For the 3rd coordinate it would stay as -2 but the others are incorrect....
I knew I messed up. Let me try again. @563blackghost
Alrighty
-5 and -3 @563blackghost
Correct ^^ so the missing coords are -5, -3 and -2 as well as the rule being x=(-2)=y
x+(-2)=y*
Thank you so much!! You were a big help! @563blackghost Also thank you @Wendy.Ivette11714 and @KendrickLamar2014
