Yeah, that's right. I suppose it depends on what you call it but it's basically the 2 numbers given next to a square or rectangle times each other. :) So to find surface area, all you have to do is find the area of each square or rectangle then add them all together.

Yeah, I know. But I see my mistake. Those big rectangles are only 2 blocks long and 1 block tall so their area is 2. And there is 4 of them so that makes 8. The little blocks area is only 1 unit and there is 2 of them, so that's 2. And 8+8 is 10 so I'd say 10 is your answer. :) Sorry about that!
