OpenStudy (phagey):

The function of which human organ is most like the cell walls of bacteria? pancreas heart liver skin 3. Sharks, clown fish, sea anemones, coral and algae are some organisms that live in the ocean. Which characteristic of life do all organisms have in common? they acquire air through their gills they require energy to live they live in water they are consumers 4. Which sequence represents the correct order of levels of organization found in a complex organism?

OpenStudy (cammy01):

the first i think is the skin

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

3. Not all organisms have gills, or live in the water. Most plants are not consumers, but all organisms require the energy to live. 4. post the sequence please :)

OpenStudy (phagey):

organelles →cells →tissues →organs →organ systems organs → organ systems →cells →tissues →organelles tissues → organs →organ systems →organelles →cells cells → organelles → organ systems →tissues @MegWatskies

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

do you have a guess?

OpenStudy (phagey):

i think number 3

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

no, tissues are made up of cells, which have organelles in them. try agian :)

OpenStudy (phagey):

the last one?

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

No, organelles are the smallest unit, its all of the things in the cell. then cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, and organs make up organ systems.

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

do you want me to explain? or do you have any other questions?

OpenStudy (phagey):

can you help me with 2 more ?

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

yep, ill try

OpenStudy (phagey):

Yeast is an example of a eukaryote while the bacterium E-coli is an example of a prokaryote. Which structure is present in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes? A nucleus that regulates cellular processes. Mitochondria that create energy for the cell. A cell membrane that is a protective barrier from the outside environment. A cell wall that provides a rigid outer layer for the cell.

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

well, prokaryotes and even animal cells don't have a cell wall, so cross that one out...

OpenStudy (phagey):

ok

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

And prokaryotes have their DNA in their cytoplasm, which means there is no need for a nucleus

OpenStudy (phagey):

can it be the cell membrane?

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

Yes! good job

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

i think you have another question?

OpenStudy (phagey):

The function of which human organ is most like the cell walls of bacteria? pancreas heart liver skin

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

sorry i lost my connection for a sec. It would be skin, since both provide a barrier but allow things to enter in and out

OpenStudy (phagey):

ok thank you so much

OpenStudy (megwatskies):

You're welcome!

OpenStudy (cammy01):

ok i need to review that agaim in my folder so its water
