Is what you've drawn on the reaction really supposed to be there? If that extra drawn in double bond wasn't there and the 1) and 2) written down aren't there, then the reaction would be an acid catalyzed dehydration

You are correct I drew that 1) and 2) there I wasnt supposed to I was thinking at first that that was suposed to be what happened but I was wrong. So I don't know where to go from there I am assuming that the OH will change to an OH2 after exposed to H2SO4 but then when the water comes in Idk what else will happen! Please help!
