Help! midpoints of triangles!

OpenStudy (kdr1308):

What's your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given that V, W, and X are the midpoints of triangle STU , what is the relationship between TX and XU?

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

X is the midpoint of TU What does that mean about the relationship between TX and XU? Is one greater than the other, or are they equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 2TX=XU B) TX= 1/2 XU C) TX parallel XU D) TX congruent to XU

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AbdullahM I don't know, that's everything they gave me

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

Hint: Parallel means that the sides never meet each other. But you can see that they are adjacent, and there is no way XU and TX are parallel. Congruent means the same thing as equal to. X is a midpoint of TU Is TX = XU??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AbdullahM I think they are

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

They are! So what do you think the answer is? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. thanks again! I really appreciate it!

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

It is my pleasure! :)
