I need help with some homework, I have tried to ask the teacher, but she is useless. This is 8th grade FLVS Science course. Its lesson 6.01 (I don't know if that helps), and its about the predator and prey lab report. I was given a link for the assignment, to help, but it makes no sense to me. I don't want to cheat, I want to learn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the link

OpenStudy (missmeow):

I have 20 generations on the lab report sheet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh i remember this!

OpenStudy (missmeow):

Oh good, so you can help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have your rabits and wolves?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cutt out and everything?

OpenStudy (missmeow):

I dont have them printed, I cant use the printer.

OpenStudy (missmeow):

So I was given the simulator instead.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so am going to explain it to you and what the simulator is trying to do

OpenStudy (missmeow):

Ok then. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first thing that the sim is doing is that it has its rabbits spread out onto a flat surface then it drops one wolf from a certain height onto were the rabbits are right?

OpenStudy (missmeow):

pretty much yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if i were to drop a wolf onto were the rabbits are and get three or more then the wolf gets to live and it makes another wolf and if the wolf catches less than 3 rabbits it dies and then you have one wolf left. You basically keep doing this untile one of the species dies off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for the rabbit part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and i forgot to tell you. for every three rabits the wolf eats at one time that is one baby it has. so lets say the wolf catches six rabits. then it makes two babies. and if it doesnt catch anything it dies.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you have rabbits left then what you do is count how many are left and double the number of rabbits on the surface.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really hope this helped if you have any more questions please tag me!

OpenStudy (missmeow):

I think I get it now, thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem!
