Which of these issues was a motivating factor in Britain's decision to colonize Australia in the late 1700s? A) Britain's decreasing involvement in India B) Britain's recent loss of its American colonies C) Britain's lack of international economic power D) Britain's fear of the growing revolution in France
@jabez177

B
or....can you say which to eliminate

Hello! What seems to be the problem? :)
can u help? i all of a sudden forgot this
The questions hard..
Hmm let's see. As Jabez stated, which do you think it is. Eliminate the ones you know couldn't be the answer
okay..
When you let me know what one you think you can eliminate or what one you think it is I may be able to help you out :D
i want to elimainate A 1st
Okay, whats your reasoning behind eliminating A?
I just don't think it has nothing to do with "india"
And why is that?
Becasue india leterally had nothing to do with australia in the 1700
True....now what other ones can you eliminate?
Look i asked because i don't know much can you eliminate atleast one for me... because this isint helping..
If I could help, I would say to elminate D because the only concern of the French was that they were going to gain a foothold in the Australian continent or in the southwest Pacific.
omg thankyou.. now its only 2 left
wat do you think @Liz_Beauty45
Here are a few reason why the British wanted to colonize Australia to expand the British empire, Australia could provide commercial and political gains to Britain, due to war, Britain needed to find an alternative supply of Flax and timber as her Baltic supply was under threat, the continent had natural resources which England wanted.
To solve the problem of Britain's overcrowded prisons which was caused by the Industrial Revolution by establishing a new penal colony in a land which showed promise for eventually becoming self-supporting. Britain had been sending their excess prisoners to North America, but the American War of Independence put a stop to the practice. Following this, the English were no longer able to transport surplus prisoners who couldn't legally be executed to North America.
Britain needed a port in the East to promote trade with China and to extend its naval and commercial power, these are a few major reasons why the British wanted to colonize Australia, looking at your options, which do you think is the most likely?
wait i have to go pee BRB <3 :D
okay so it is...B!!
and thanks for sticking around
Yes, it seems that B is the most likely answer
And no problem, I am happy to help
