there are different area formula's for different shapes. what shape are you trying to find the area of

surface formula is find the area of each surface and add it all together

no, like area you have to do LxWxH.... and with surface area, it's different.

its both what @flower2468 said and what you are saying. you can multiply the length and how tall it is together, or add up all 4 sides. they should come out to be the same answer
