OpenStudy (atildathehun):

For what x-value(s) does sin(x) = -1? can anyone help out please?

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Are there any options to choose from?

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

no, it is an open response

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got nothin sorry

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

What do you know about the result of a sin equation?

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

Well i know how to do a sin, the result... im not sure what you are asking.

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Okay I'll post a picture of a unit circle. It shows the degree needed to get to certain values. For your question focus on the degrees and the y value of the coordinates. The y value is the result of sin to what ever degree it says

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

hay that's kinds cool looking. but I have never seen something like that before, so all of the -1 values are between 210 and 300?

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Sort of. Most of the negative values are on the bottom half of the unit circle. What you are looking for is the one that has a y value of -1

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

I know that 270 will = -1. What I am wondering is how to tell what other numbers will = -1 via sine function

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Only sin(270) will equal -1

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

oh. ok

OpenStudy (atildathehun):

thanks.
