OpenStudy (britbrat1997):

Suppose you work for a large coffee distributor that has a secret coffee blend it sells to local stores. You mix the Kona blend with the Kenya blend, but always in the same proportion. Yesterday, you mixed 90 pounds of the Kona blend with 36 pounds of the Kenya blend. Today, there is 40 pounds of the Kona coffee left in stock. How many pounds of the Kenya coffee should you mix with it to get your secret blend?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need a proportion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36/90 = X/40 X is the amount of Kenya blend needed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross multiply them and solve

OpenStudy (britbrat1997):

90x=1400 so x=16?
