What is the principle of perception that supports the idea that your brain expects that the puff of white between the fingers is a cloud; that is much farther away than the hand?

Hmm.... could you explain one thing involving this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean by; "that your brain expects that the puff of white between the fingers is a cloud; that is much farther away than the hand?" Are you meaning when you hold your hand away from your face and look upward towards the sky?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is a perceptual consistency, especially since you know you can't touch it due to how far away the clouds are.

OpenStudy (cutiecomittee123):

Okay I knew that but I was just making sure, thanks!!:)
