What is the area of Triangle PQR on the grid? A triangle PQR is shown on a grid. The vertex P is on ordered pair 7 and 6, vertex Q is on ordered pair 1 and 6, and the vertex R is on ordered pair 4 and 2.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

got pic?

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

do i need to take a screenshot

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

try posting it without we need login on this page please

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

i dont know how to screen shot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw it with the draw feature

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of triangle = 1/2 the base times the height

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

is the answer 84

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

or is it 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want answer? or you wanna learn how? both are very easy

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok the formula of area for triange is 1/2 * base * height the base starts at 1 on the x axis and ends at 7. do end minus start 7-1 =6 so base =6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

height starts at 2 on the y axis and ends at 6. know what the height =?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

@jahernandez you can take a screenshot on any page by pressing the PrintScreen button, next to the [f12] on the keyboard then go to Paint or some graphic app, and do Edit > paste save it, and post it here :)

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

12

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

thank u @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is 12 yes. the height is 4 the base is 6. 1/2 base * height = 1/2* 24 = 12

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

thank u @jeremyggg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just remember! the base is always the LONGEST part of a triangle

OpenStudy (jahernandez):

:)
