It does sound like a good idea but the website needs to work out its flaws first like the sprauger glitch or the site loads super slow on my mobile and I can't see who is online or chat despite using different browsers.

Renting a venue costs money...
Personal tshirts is a bit too costly, but a general one seems ok - most likely won't be free though
food costs money...

We could do an OpenStudy Occupation and stay in tents in a public park. With publicity, we can give face to face help to those who ask questions. Also, we can have speakers from among us to teach topics to each others. Those who have written stories and poems could read them. Leave it to the imagination. For recreation, we could go to the local zoo and look at owls.

Proving your identity should be relatively easy. Just have someone that makes you log in to your acc before you can enter. Either that or submit an ID ahead of time (from your os account) and then show them said ID later.

If we're doing an openstudy convention, we can probably have:
- presentations/story-time about how openstudy was created (what openstudy's purpose is - for the parents)
- Q&A session for stuff about openstudy
- activities to promote conversation and meeting of new people
- pin the mouth on the Owlfred
- we can share stories of how we found openstudy or our best memories with openstudy
- if enough of us 'helpers' go, we can give advice to the younglings about college applications, good classes to choose for high school ... academic advice
- typical games like musical chairs
- we could have a table there for selling t-shirts and plush owlfreds... if we get them made - but they won't be free (unless the gofundme goes overboard)
