is this half the distance between point E and point F?
OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):
i dont understand
OpenStudy (welshfella):
you say ' the point that is the distance' which does not make sense - something must go into the blank space.

ohhh sorry
right between "that is" and "the distance" is 3/4
OpenStudy (welshfella):
I'm trying to remember the formula..
the line is divided in the ratio 3:1
so the y coorddinate = 3(-1) + 1(-3)
-----------
1 + 3
can you work that out?
OpenStudy (welshfella):
= (-3 - 3) / 4 = what?
OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):
-6/4
OpenStudy (welshfella):
Ok now do the division and you have the answer
