Find the volume and surface area of the composite figure. Give your answer in terms of π.
I feel like I did something similar to this, but my guesses don't feel right.
@Directrix Mind helping? If not it's fine.
This looks familiar. First up: Find the volume of the right circular cone. Second up: Find the volume of the hemisphere.
Yeah I was thinking so. I looked back in a previous assignment, the numbers are different for this one.
I got 724 for area of cone when I did it on paper.
The formulas don't change. Did you get the volume of the hemisphere? You could find the volume of a sphere of radius 7 and then take half of that to get the volume of the associated hemisphere.
1,282
half is 641
That's volume?
Let me see what I get for the lateral area of the cone. LA = pi * r * L where L is the slant height LA = pi * 7 * 25 LA = 175 π
549?
LA of hemisphere: 2 π 7*7 = 98 π
98 π + 175 π =
273 π for surface area. Is that an option?
I got 857.65
Give your answer in terms of π.
Yeah. It shows. I got the volume of it, area I wasn't sure, but it shows 273pi
Danke. :)

I am just now calculating volume. You've already done that?
It doesn't show another area to ask a question though. It says I've had to many questions open, and not allowed to post anymore?
Not allowed to post on OpenStudy? I don't know what you are saying.
Yeah volume I had multiplied. I'm pretty sure I got it right.
Yeah, on the home page, it shows "unavailable postage"
oh ok
Close this thread and you will be allowed to post your new question.
for the volume btw, i got 615.6
Closest to it is 620, so close enough in my opinion.
Um... not letting me close this?
