Check my answer please, thanks! The distance traveled by a sound wave through a substance is proportional to time. The graph shows this relationship for several substances. Which substances have a unit rate greater than 2 km/s? Choose all answers that are correct. A. cork B. glass C. lead D. titanium glass, lead, and titanium?

@jim_thompson5910 Please check my answer if you have the time ^_^

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm how did you get all those anyway?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

or say... how do you know glass has a unit greatere than 2 km/s anyway?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Just for the heck of it, identify the slopes of all four graphs. Next, choose any and all such slopes that are greater than 2 km/sec. Done.

Well I write all the points out as fractions, then divide them till they come out as unit rates. (10,60) = 60/10=6 (10,40)= 40/10= 4 (10,12)= 12/10= 6/5 or 1.2 (10,5)= 5/10= 1/2 or 0.5 Now that I look at it. I'm thinking titanium and glass only

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yes.... that's the "slope" btw,or the the "rate of change" or unit rate and yes, you're correct, but notice, only Titanium and Glass are greater than 2 though lead is 6/5 and cork is 1/2
