Well, an autobiography is written by the person himself, so it's kinda doubtful that it's his descendants, and you could find more information about someone living at the same time as him (a contemporary) from a biography/autobiography about them. That's two eliminated.

It has HIS history, but not the entire history of those years- so more than likely, it's insight to the moral values of that time, since it's from his view and he lived then.
