OpenStudy (anonymous):
Anne and Hestor are both reading an 1100 page historical novel. Anne reads 50 pages a day. Hestor reads 10 pages the first day , 20 the second, 30 the third and so on. After how many days will they be on the same page. When I solve this problem I get 9 days. The books says the answer is 14 days. Am I correct in that the book is wrong? 50 x 9 = 450 5(9)^2 + 5(9) = 450
