Ist the signal will be transduced through the cytoplasm of cell. Then it would enter the nucleus, where it would interact with the DNA and in the end, DNA will pass on its response(information about needed protein) to RNA and in the cytoplasm target cell would produce proteins to alter cell's function and to act accordingly. So "3rd" option.
