a home has a triangular backyard. the second angle is 6 degrees more than the first angle. the third angle is 14 degrees more than three times the first angle. find the angles of the triangular backyard can anyone show me full steps??
In a triangular shape the sum of the angles is 180. So now figure out the values of the angles "The seco D angle is 6 degrees more..." I can write it like this If the first angle is "x" First--->x Second--->x+6 The third says 14 more than 3 times the first, so Third is 14+3x
how do i go about doing this?
So now you have to do this First+second+third=180
how do i turn it into an equation?
x+(x+6)+(14+3x)=180
my problem is figuring out how to solve it
It is a simple equation
Sum up the quotients of x
5x+20=180
ok will it find me all three angles. as the last part of the question states "find the angles of the triangular backyard" so it wants all three angles
First find x plis
If you find x you can find the measure of the there angles First---->x Second--->x+6 Third--->14+3x
x=32 because 5x+20=180 so i subtracted 20 from both sides and got 160 then divided by 5 to get 32 so now what??
Yes you are right
Your first angle is x=32 degrees. Your second is x+6 degrees, or ... ? Your third angle is 3x+14, or ... ? Once you have these 3 possible angles, add them together. If their sum is 180 degrees, then it's probable that y ou have the correct answers (the measures of three angles).
Now fi D the angles The first angle is equal to x
thats what i want to know is how to get the measure of the second angle
Second angle is x+6 or 32+6=?
And the third is 3*32+14
Please go back and re-read the original problem statement. It explains how the 2nd and 3rd angles are calculated from the first angle, x.
Please see my last post, from 5 minutes ago: I explained the same thing there also.
is it 32+6 which is 38 for the second angle
Yes
